Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 22, 2026

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Chesapeake Mobile Detailing collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use our website, request a quote, book an appointment, pay for services, communicate with us, or receive mobile detailing services.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect contact information such as name, phone number, email address, service address, billing details, and communication preferences. We may collect vehicle information such as year, make, model, color, license plate if visible in photos, service notes, vehicle condition, photos, and requested services.

We may also collect booking information, appointment dates and times, cancellation/rescheduling details, quote history, payment status, message history, SMS consent status, marketing consent status, IP address, browser information, device information, and basic website usage data.

3. Quote Forms and Vehicle Photos

When you submit a quote request, we store the details you provide so we can estimate the work, contact you, prepare for service, and keep operational records. If you upload or provide vehicle photos, we use them to evaluate vehicle condition, identify service needs, document pre-service condition, and communicate about the quote or appointment.

4. Cal.diy Booking Data

Online scheduling is powered by our self-hosted Cal.diy booking system. Booking data may include your name, email, phone number, selected service, appointment time, timezone, answers to booking questions, cancellation details, payment status, and internal booking identifiers. Cal.diy may also connect with owner calendar accounts to check availability, prevent double-booking, create appointment events, and send booking notifications.

5. Calendar Integrations

When our owner calendar is connected, booking details may be written to Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, iCal-compatible calendars, or similar calendar systems. Calendar integrations are used to manage availability, reminders, scheduling, and double-booking prevention. Customer data placed in calendar events is limited to what is reasonably needed to identify and perform the appointment.

6. Payments Through Stripe

Payments may be processed by Stripe. Stripe may collect payment card details, billing information, fraud prevention signals, transaction identifiers, and related payment data. We receive payment status, amount, transaction metadata, and limited billing details, but we do not store full card numbers on our website.

7. SMS, Email, and Phone Communications

We use your contact information to respond to quote requests, confirm bookings, send reminders, provide service updates, send payment links, answer questions, and follow up after service. If you consent to SMS notifications, message frequency varies and message/data rates may apply. You may reply STOP to unsubscribe from SMS where supported, or contact us directly to update communication preferences.

Marketing messages are sent only when consent is collected or where otherwise permitted by law. Transactional appointment and service communications may still be sent as needed to perform requested services.

8. How We Use Information

We use information to provide quotes, schedule appointments, process payments, prepare for service, perform detailing work, document vehicle condition, send confirmations and reminders, prevent double-booking, provide customer support, comply with legal obligations, improve our website and operations, prevent fraud and abuse, and maintain accurate business records.

9. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with service providers and tools used to operate the business, including Cal.diy, Stripe, email/SMS providers, calendar providers, hosting providers, database providers, analytics/security tools, and professional advisors. We may also share information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, to respond to legal requests, or in connection with a business transfer.

10. Data Storage and Security

Our production stack is self-hosted where practical and stores booking and quote data in our controlled database. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information. No website, network, database, or transmission method is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Data Retention

We retain quote, booking, payment, communication, and service records for as long as reasonably needed for business operations, customer support, dispute resolution, tax/accounting obligations, legal compliance, fraud prevention, and service history. We may retain limited records after deletion requests where required or permitted by law.

12. Your Choices

You may request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your personal information by contacting us. You may opt out of marketing communications, unsubscribe from SMS where supported, decline optional photo submission, or choose not to provide non-required information. Some information is necessary to provide quotes, booking, payment, or service.

13. Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website and booking tools may use cookies or similar browser storage for routing, sessions, security, booking flow functionality, and basic site operation. Cal.diy and Stripe may use cookies or similar technologies as part of authentication, checkout, fraud prevention, and service delivery.

14. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information to us, please contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

15. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the website or services after updates means the revised Policy applies going forward.
